What the clients say…

“I came to Kari in January as a bit of a wreck of a woman - fifty something, in a sedentary job, and two years of lockdown eating. The first session almost broke me, but Kari’s support and cheerfulness made me want to come back. A few short weeks later, and I’m buzzing after every session. I feel more aware of my physicality, and loving towards my body and all it does for me, than I have in decades. I may not have body beautiful, but she is helping me achieve something much better - pride at all my body is able to achieve. Kari is inspiring. Her sessions are challenging, varied and (dare I whisper it) fun. On top of all that, she’s great company, and I’m enjoying getting to know her. Such a bonus!

“Choosing a personal trainer can be a difficult decision. However, Kari is not only good at her job but such an inspirational lady that it seemed the best choice for me! Her work outside of her role as a P.T is nothing less than incredible and that is the sort of person I wanted coaching me!

She believes in what she delivers and trains herself with another P.T. Knowing this made it easier for me to approach her as I also work in the health and fitness industry. It can be a little strange asking others for help with your own motivation and accountability.

Kari also signs you up for 12 weeks which may seem a lot at first but is actually doing you a huge favour as you have to commit. It takes that long to see consistent results. No space for giving up, or not continuing with your urge to finally give you and your body the attention it deserves!

All the sessions Kari designs are amazing. I set out my goals at the start of our block and each session is built around my personal needs. I am getting fitter, stronger and more powerful week on week.

Our house is mental-busy and full of life, Kari fits right in, Kids dogs and husbands have all been part of the coaching program. It's fun, fast and inclusive. Kari never blinks when she has to hold the baby, feed him or ever herd dogs around the house when she comes to visit. She is consistent which makes me consistent. I could have had to cancel due to a poorly baby, lack of childcare or lack of sleep but I don't have to as Kari turns up with infectious energy and a huge smile ready to get going.

Never have I finished a session saying "I wish I hadn't done that." Even when I start with that thought.

So if you are in any doubt about who to choose to help you in your strength and fitness journey you cannot go wrong with Kari. One of life's true shining stars! I promise she will also have you shining after your training too!

“Kari has never made me feel uncomfortable or foolish. She is very patient and encouraging. She has the loveliest way about her, is easy to talk to, understands her clients and develops a programme that both suits them but also pushes them towards their personal goals. Kari has me doing things in my sessions that i would NEVER have dreamt I’d be confident enough to do a month ago”

I started working with Kari a couple of months ago and have no intention of stopping - she was welcoming for a gym-newb like me and has been fantastic throughout. After my taster session I walked away feeling tired but amazing and it was a no brainer to keep going. She’s very friendly, a great laugh and it feels like seeing a mate each week. I look forward to every session and without Kari I would definitely be skipping sessions and cutting corners.

Workouts are always varied and she is always checking in and making sure the sessions are working for me and changing things where necessary. She pushes me on the right days and lets things cool off a bit if I am struggling.

I’m amazed at how much fitter and stronger I am since I started and I’m looking forward to keep pushing it 💪”

“I started looking for a PT, if I’m honest, out of a bit of desperation, my son is ASD sensory seeking and is prone to melt downs which means I can be in the firing line.

I needed to find something that did a couple of things - I needed to meet his sensory needs, I needed us to have fun and I needed us to work together.  There was no way I could get my square peg in round hole kid to do anything that his safe person didn’t do with him.

So we found Kari, on a recommendation and wow, we’ve been blown away by her enthusiasm and understanding of our needs.  Kari used to be a PE teacher and gets kids, but more than that, she gets that kids are individual, that they need a new fresh approach and that they need kindness and time

Having an ASD kid isn’t easy, but as ASD parents, we know that, we just try to find him outlets to help him sensory seeking behaviour and to divert some of that “energy” into a product that gives him a release and meets his needs

It’s not a normal request, to ask for a trainer for a 6 year old but Kari rose to the challenge, she listened to me about what H liked, what he needed, what he could do and what the OT said he needed.

You know what? Kari had nailed it, H looks forward to our twice a week sessions - we play games, we work hard, we lift weights, we do boxing, we do interval training and we do it all AT HIS PACE, In an environment where he is HAPPY.  It’s a a slow burn, it’s taken time and patience but Kari has been with us every…….. single…….. step of the way - if we’re having a bad day, no biggie, we try something else or we go run it off or jump around like lunatics.  Or we out some tunes on and dance it out - no behaviour is off putting to Kari - she takes it all in her stride and H and I value that more than anything else - very few people actually provide a no judgement space !

It’s so rare to find a PT that doesn’t just get neurodiverse kids but actually embraces it - Kari has never stopped finding ways for us to get H to work and for a kid that’s Minecraft obsessed, that’s no mean feat

H’s regulation is better, he has an outlet, he has a scheduled time and he knows that as it’s just us that Kari will listen to him and never judge.

She’s been a breath of fresh air and a much needed source of fun, support and understanding in what can often be a pretty difficult world for our dude.

We’re forever grateful.”

”I recently signed up with Kari for an intensive pre Christmas program. My general cardio fitness level was good so I asked Kari to focus the sessions on weights based strength training. I did make the mistake of telling Kari I wanted the sessions to be very challenging and she made sure that this is was the case, I was in pieces after the first session!

Each session was varied and interesting and we also had a laugh along the way. I enjoy competitive training and Kari was very happy to train along side me in some sessions. This added to the fun and ensured a high level of intensity was maintained.

Overall I found the program to be challenging and hugely enjoyable. Kari is an excellent PT as well as being a lovely person. She has a genuine passion for helping people of all ages and fitness levels. If you are looking for a PT contact Kari”
